"We Fall Down"
|"Let the saints be joyful in glory; let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, to execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute on them the written judgment -- this honor have all His saints. Praise the Lord!" Psalm 149:5-9|
enduring four years of problems with my right kidney, I received my
healing. My difficulties began with a bladder infection the end of December,
1999. Antibiotics seemed to clear the infection, but almost immediately
I began to have problems with my kidney and periodically, with my bladder.
Through a Christian naturopathic doctor, I began taking numerous natural supplements and herbs. I found that if I ceased taking the pills, pain in my right kidney would return so over the course of four years, I spent a small fortune in order to maintain my kidney. In addition, I took conventional antibiotics twice but they did not provide relief.
I had been healed of other physical ailments through faith twice before. However, the pain in my kidney seemed to be a more serious situation and it was so much easier to just keep taking the pills. Every now and then, my husband would suggest believing God for my healing. Because I did not want to be on the pills for the rest of my life, I did try to receive healing by faith, but because of fear, I would always resort to taking the pills.
After four years, the doctor told me that the pills did not seem to be working and because there was no other recourse, she advised me to consult a urologist. By this time, the intermittent pain was becoming worse and in addition, I now had a constant, dull pain. I tried to fight the symptoms using the Word of God; however, the symptoms became quite severe.
One day, I recalled the passage of Scripture the Lord had given me three months earlier and this was Psalm 149:5-9. In this passage, it says that our two powerful and effective weapons against the enemy are (1) praise and (2) the spoken Word of God. That day, I began praising God for my healing and when I awoke the following morning, I found that some unrelated symptoms had completely disappeared. I made a mental note that this had to be due to the addition of praise.
However, the pain in my kidney became even more severe and so I went to a urologist who decided to send me for an x-ray but, in order to do so, he had to take a urine culture using a catheter. The method used to insert the catheter caused tremendous pain which continued after I left his office. The doctor's visit was a very unpleasant experience and I found myself in worse shape than when I went. I decided that I had enough of medical doctors as far as my kidney was concerned and that I would use my faith to receive healing. At this point, I knew I had to step "out of the boat" (referring to the New Testament story of Peter stepping out of the boat to walk on the water to Jesus).
I knew exactly what to do this time. In order to build my faith, I went over my healing scriptures and listened to my healing tapes over and over again. On Sunday morning, February 29, 2004 at 8:30 a.m., I gathered my communion elements of grape juice and a piece of dry cereal (Cheerios!) and my Bible and went into my bedroom to receive my healing.
First, I turned to Mark 11 and, just as Jesus cursed the fig tree, I cursed the root of the kidney and bladder problems and, just as Jesus said to speak to the mountain, I commanded the kidney and bladder problems to leave in the name of Jesus. On the basis of Isaiah 53:4,5 and Mark 11:24, I said, "I believe I receive my healing right now" and began immediately to thank and praise God for my healing. At that point, I stopped taking all pills and supplements for my kidney and bladder, believing that I was healed. After all, the pills were not healing me anyway.
I continued lifting my hands, thanking and praising God for my healing, even though my symptoms were still present. I mentally pictured myself like Peter walking on the water toward Jesus, knowing that I had to keep my focus on Jesus and not on the "wind and the waves" or my symptoms. Every time I had a sharp pain, I would turn on the devil, refusing to fear, and immediately use my weapons: my sword (the spoken Word of God from my mouth) and my shield (praising God).
That afternoon, the devil was being particularly stubborn, inflicting me with sharp pain. Each time, I commanded the devil to take his hands off me, telling him that I was healed by Jesus' stripes, and then I praised the Lord, thanking Him that I was healed. Finally, in addition to this, to show the devil that I was not afraid of his pain and that I would not be bullied by him, I purposely jumped up and came down very hard. This is something that would have normally caused me discomfort. From that moment, the sharp pain left and never returned. In a few days, all the symptoms disappeared and I have been healed since that time.
Healing was available to me the whole time; finally, after four years, I received it.
