The Morning Is Coming!

"Understand it by and by"

"He made the Pleiades and Orion; He turns the shadow of death into morning and makes the day dark as night; He calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out on the face of the earth; the Lord is His Name."
Amos 5:8

At times, situations arise in life that can become so intense that we begin to wonder if we will ever get through them. We've all been there; it's a part of life. It's during these times of adverse circumstance that our emotions can really start to flare, as the enemy comes to our minds attempting to capitalize on the situation, attempting to convince us that we'll never get through it and that all is lost!

Especially if the situation has been going on for an extended period of time, our tendency may be to think things may never change. We begin to become irritable, our joy is lost, and depression may even attempt to set in. All because we have lost our hope of things ever turning around. The first part of Proverbs 13:12 tells us: "Hope deferred (put off, delayed) makes the heart sick." That's the exact plan that the devil has for us in attempting to convince us that all is lost. He's the author of sickness and disease, and in the first part of John 10:10 Jesus tells us, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy!" That's the devil's game plan and his mission statement.

In our opening verse of Amos 5:8, it begins by reminding us that our God is the one who created the heavens and the earth. It goes on to say that He is the one who set the days and the nights in order, and set them in motion - in other words, we need to be reminded of the fact that our God is the Master Creator and is very much still in control. He keeps the universe in balance and therefore is able to easily remedy our situation.

The next part of this verse is a wonderful truth for you to hold onto, are you ready to shout for joy?! He turns the shadow of death into morning! Praise the Lord, hallelujah!!!

Our God is the God of life. The enemy will always try to get your eyes off of that truth. He wants you to focus on the destruction, the pain, and the bad report. Understand and know this as a fact: the enemy has already been defeated for us. He is under our feet and we've been given authority over him, in fact the spirits are subject to us in the Name of Jesus (Luke 10:17-20). So according to this truth, all of his actions toward us are but a smoke screen, or a shadow of death in light of the promises of the Covenant Word of God.

I once heard someone say that the shadow of a dog never bit any one! How true, shadows can't hurt you. I also know that the shadow can "look" and even "feel" very convincing though. If you're not careful when this smoke screen comes your way, you can get your eyes off of the Word and focused onto the situation, fearing its ability to overtake you. The devil is after your faith, your belief ability; he wants you to believe he is more powerful than God and His promises. You see, smoke screens hide something, and the devil is attempting to hide the truth that he is defeated! That's what smoke screens are designed to do.

The truth that will bring about great joy and rekindle hope, is the promise that He will turn the shadow of death into morning. The morning brings about a new day, filled with new possibilities, filled with light and the vision of a brand new horizon! That's our God. He's the God of new beginnings. The second part of Proverbs 13:12 reminds us that when hope is rekindled it becomes a tree of life. In response to His Word, His life begins to manifest in us and faith rises up and takes hold and expects the manifestation of His Word (Romans 10:17, Jeremiah 1:12).

Jesus said in the second part of John 10:10 - "I have come that they may have life (His life, His power, His promises), and that they may have it more abundantly (overflowing)."

Obviously, we're all familiar with the phrase "the shadow of death," as it's famously spoken of in the 23rd Psalm. I love the promise regarding the shadow of death that is given there. "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over (overflowing). Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever."

Now that will get you happy! Did you see it? The attack of the enemy comes, but when we go through it (knowing he is defeated already), in faith (expecting), knowing He is with us, - God determines that it's party time! He throws a party; a feast for us right is the midst of the attack. Right in the face of the enemy! Then He brings refreshing and brings about abundant blessing. If you do a study on that feast - it is a Kings feast with all of the rights and privileges - there is no lack there!

He's anointed our head with oil, Oh what a precious picture this paints for the Christian. By anointing your head with oil, He's saying you've got to get this down deep in the understanding of who you are and allow it to permeate through your entire thought process! Don't buy into the lies of the enemy - You are anointed to overcome, you are anointed to prosper, you are anointed for success, you are anointed to walk in divine health, and you are anointed for victory. You are a winner, an overcomer in Christ Jesus, you're more than a conqueror, you are a mountain mover, an earth shaker and a history maker! Oh, let us get a picture of that on the inside and begin to expect what He's promised, because He said goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life!!! That's your inheritance, that's what you are ordained for, that's your lot in life, that's your rightful place! Don't you dare accept anything less! You are destined for greatness.

So in the midst of your situation, right now where you are - get the "party spirit" going down deep on the inside of you, and begin to get ready to feast. In fact, you ought to be looking for the table right about now. Get your eyes off of the problem and onto the promise because the morning is coming!!!
