Not Of This World
I've received quite a few emails from people describing their condition of sickness and disease followed by the statement: "and the doctors say there is no cure!"
Now, while we thank God for doctors and the medical profession, we need to take hold of the understanding that they are NOT the last word regarding a born-again believer's situation.
Jesus addressed this very truth regarding His disciples when He said in John 17:16 - They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. That is a very strong statement. However, to help us with our understanding, let's take a look at the Message Translation of the same verse. John 17:16 (MSG) - They are no more defined by the world, than I am defined by the world.
The word Defined in this setting, has the meaning of: not being marked by it's boundaries. Therefore, Jesus is saying: Those who follow me should not be marked with the same boundaries that the world has.
We need to realize that in Christ, we've been set apart. We are now a part of His Kingdom, and His Kingdom is one of all sufficiency. When Jesus came to this earth He brought His Kingdom with Him, and those of us who have received Him as Lord and Savior have become a part of this Kingdom.
Jesus said in Matthew 3:2 - "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Or, we could say for the believer, - Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is now within your reach! Think of that! There is no lack or limitation for us as children of God - the Kingdom, with all of it's blessing, with all of it's sufficiency IS NOW, presently within our reach!
We need to shake off doubt and religious wranglings and take on the reality of what Jesus purchased for us the church, and begin to see clearly what He has bestowed upon us and brought us into! We really are one with Him now. We need to quit wishing something would happen and take hold of what He has already done and provided for us. He's given us everything, and we need to learn how to possess our possessions in Him, as we take hold with the arms of faith.
The Book of Ephesians speaks quite strongly about this very fact. Let's take a look at Ephesians 2:4-10: But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Did you notice that there is a specific place He has gifted, graced and exalted us to? Verse 6 tells that upon our salvation, He raised us up together (made us one with Him) and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. WOW! Don't let that truth pass you by. Take a moment to pause and let that statement really sink in! We've got to quit reading the Word of God with a religious mind-set and begin to read it as it is. This is the place we have in Him right this very second - NOW ~ RIGHT NOW! Yes, in the midst of what your going through, it's in effect this very moment ~ RIGHT NOW!!!
And did you notice His plan for every one of His children is to walk in and function in the good works He has ordained for each one of us? That means to be healed and whole and well and accomplishing our God ordained task! That is the will of God, and it's plainly written down for us to see.
Let me tell you about the place we are seated with Christ in. I call it the Seat of Authority. Why? Because of what the last part of Ephesians chapter one proclaimed. Let's take a look at it, shall we?
Ephesians 1:15-23 - Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe,
(Praise God, that's good news isn't it?! Look how generous our God is to us, just look at what He's made available to us!.And this IS the will of God for us NOW ~ RIGHT NOW! But wait, there's more!)
According to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and SEATED Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
Now, can you understand why I call it the Seat of Authority? And, remember Ephesians 2:6 tells us that WE are seated with Him - FAR ABOVE ALL principality and power and might and dominion AND EVERY, EVERY, EVERY name that is named, not only in this age BUT also in that which is to come! Now that's shouting ground right there! You've got to get a hold of this truth - it is life changing!!! Allow this to permeate every thought, and every fiber of your being. Allow this truth to shape your thinking to what you were destined for! This is victory, pure and simple.
Did you notice the Word said in verse 21 every name? Yes, we are seated with Him FAR above EVERY name that can ever be named. What kind of names have you been struggling with? Cancer, lupus, diabetes, arthritis, MS, heart disease and on and on and on. Yes, He said EVERY NAME!!! In this present age and in your tomorrow. It's your birthright, it's your God given inheritance and it's yours RIGHT NOW!!!
This is your present reality, this is your position in Christ, this is where you are seated ~ with Jesus in that Seat of Authority. But in case you don't quite see it yet, let's look at the last two verses in that chapter. Ephesians 1:22-23: And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
Notice, the Father put all things under His feet! But it goes on to say that His body IS the church - THAT'S US!!! Let me ask you a question: If we are the body of Christ (and we are) then where are the feet? That's right, on the lowest part of the body. So, if all things are under His feet, then let there be no doubt, all things have been placed under OUR feet as well.
Verse 23 also tells us: AND His body is the FULLNESS of Him who fills (us) all and is in (us) all. Now that's POWERFUL!!! We are filled with His fullness - each one - there is absolutely NO LACK to any child of God. NONE!!! We are anointed and appointed and equipped!!! BUT, we've got to know it and believe it, receive it and act upon it. I want to urge you to read this over and over and over. Take time to ponder and meditate upon it with the Lord. Allow the Spirit of God to impart the deep truth and revelation of this into your heart.
Yes, it's time for us to take this seriously, get righteously indignant, and turn the tables on the devil and run off those things that are holding us back from becoming all that He has ordained for us to be! It's time to take Him at His Word. It's time for us to quit being victims and take our rightful place as victors! It's time to stop being worriers and begin to live as warriors!!! We are winners, we are not losers. In Him we are victorious, and we are more than conquerors!!! Get on the offensive with the truth of the Word of God and begin to declare to sickness and disease that your days of lack have come to and end! Rise up and decree the promises of the Word of God. Begin to prophecy to your situations and circumstances: "thus saith the Lord, by His stripes I am healed."
Make a fresh start today by feeding on the promises of God daily. Yes, if you'll feed your faith, with faith food (the Word of God) your doubts will starve to death. Take the firm stance of a believer and look sickness and disease right in the eye and proclaim who you are in Christ. You're the healed, you are NOT the sick.
When doctors proclaim there is no cure - remember this - as a believer, you are NOT defined by this world's system, you are NOT marked with it's boundaries or limitations. You are NOT of this world, you ARE seated with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus - right there - in that ALL POWERFUL Seat of Kingdom Authority.
get up, right now, and begin to proclaim your covenant rights, then praise
Him for His goodness, because we are NOT defined by the
world and it's boundaries, we've been set free!!!
